My time in Spain had its ups and downs, but I'm so glad I decided to study abroad! Rather than telling you more about how much I loved it, I'm going to tell you what I wish I'd known before I studied abroad. I hope these tips help you make the most out of your own journey someday!

1. Don't stick with one group of people just because you're scared to make new friends. At the beginning of my trip, I met a group of people that were nice, but I didn't really click with them, no matter how hard I tried. I always felt like an outsider, but I was too scared to branch out and make other friends. It wasn't until the end of my trip that I finally met people with whom I got along with perfectly and felt so much more at ease. It took me too long to decide that I needed to branch out and make more friends!

2. Life won't go exactly as planned. I am somebody that plans everything to a "T", and studying abroad made me realize that I need to go with the flow and just be more relaxed about everything. Remember when I told all of you about the time that I was on a ten hour bus ride on the Zoom call? Well, that wasn't planned. I had missed my flight from Paris to Madrid because I was lost. I should have banked in extra time for the trip because I was in a new country and knew nothing. But there was no way I would've known how lost I would get.
