Homestay and Trekking in Langtang

Photos

This is Gatlang village. It used to be known as the Black Village because all the houses used to have black roofs. After the 2015 earthquake in Nepal, the villagers have had to make repairs
Here I am sitting outside my homestay in Gatlang. The chickens roam free, and this one decided to get a closer look at me
We stumbled upon a Buddhist site on the way to the cheese factory. These are Buddhist prayer flags that are hung around the site
This is the yak cheese factory right outside of the main area of Gatlang. A girl carrying a chicken on her back led us all the way up the mountain
I'm studying in my homestay for my Nepali language exam
I'm brushing my teeth next to a cow one morning on our trek. The water was ice cold!
We saw so many rhododendron flowers. Rhododendron is the national flower of Nepal
We saw lots of mules along the trek carrying necessities up the mountain, since there's no big roads for transport. This one is carrying two bags of rice
