I was really surprised to hear that because lots of German fairy tales include wolves, like Little Red Cap. I learned that hundreds of years ago, there used to be lots of wolves in the Black Forest, so that's where the stories came from. Over time though, the people in the Black Forest started hunting all the wolves because they were afraid of them. Now, there are no more wolves left. There is some good news, though! Recently, the German government has announced a plan to start bringing some wolves back home to the Black Forest. Maybe one day soon, people and wolves will be able to live peacefully together in the Black Forest again.
