Hola a todos! I can’t believe this is our last article together! I have enjoyed getting to know you and sharing a little bit of my life here in Colombia. I want to say thank you for allowing me to do this project with you; you all were extremely engaged during our calls, curious about Colombia and interested in my life here! Like I shared in our last call, I see a little of me in all of you; so, it was great to do this project with you all. I hope our RTW calls and journals inspire you to be curious about traveling and learning about new cultures. For this last journal, I thought I would share some highlights of my journey in Colombia thus far and some things I will miss.
In our last call, I shared how important music and art has been in immersing myself into the local culture and traditions. I shared that artist Fernando Botero is one of Colombia’s most famous artists -- he even has his own museum that is free in Bogota! While there is a Botero museum in Bogota, it is also pretty clear that his influence is seen nationwide; especially in Medellin, Colombia where there is a sculpture park of figures similar to his painting style. While all of Colombia has spectacular art and museums, if you love art and graffiti, Bogota is definitely the place to be.
