There in Tbilisi, I got to enjoy my favorite form of Georgian tourist transportation so far: an aerial cable car. Do you know what "aerial" means? It means what it sounds like: in the air. That's right, I got a bird's-eye view of Tbilisi, and you can, too, if you check out my photographs!

What's next on our itinerary? A funicular railway ride! Because what could be more fun than taking a funicular railway car up a steep mountain? I'll tell you: taking a funicular up a mountain with an amusement park at its summit. There, we'll board Tbilisi's famed ferris wheel to take in views of the sprawling city of over one million people. (That's approximately the population of the entire nation of Cyprus.) I can't wait!

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

Visiting Georgia (the country) for the first time has been the highlight of my week. From the moment I arrived, it felt strikingly different from Cyprus, from its rugged landscape to its tempting new foods to its unfamiliar language to its unique society influenced by numerous other cultures, including German, Persian, French, Turkish, and Russian. Now that Cyprus has begun to feel familiar and my routines there more predictable, it’s been refreshing and exhilarating experiencing a new place this week. I know I’ll return to Cyprus with new perspectives and new appreciation for both cultures!
