I took a tour of a courtroom and heard testimony from witnesses about international crimes committed against them or their families. The building is decorated with many different kinds of flags and pictures of the judges who preside over the court.
Last weekend a coworker of mine, Michela, invited me to her home to meet her family and share a meal. She lives in Egmond aan Zee, which is right next to the beach and the ocean! She lives about 35 minutes from my home in Zaandam. We ate stamppot, which is dish of meat, vegetables and potatoes. Michela is from Switzerland and her husband is Dutch. She speaks six languages: English, Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Italian!
