I had already learned about this period of history in my Political and Cultural History class, so seeing the photographs, objects, memorials and actual spaces connected to what we had been reading made it feel much more real. It was very different from simply learning about the event from a textbook.
This weekend, my program is traveling to Český Krumlov, a smaller city in southern Czechia. I’m excited to see what another Czech city feels like compared with Prague!
