Travel News

The directions are always extremely clear and easy to follow, so it is hard to miss a bus or stop. It even sets reminders for you to know at which stop to get off. Every bus and metro ride is around ₩1500 (approximately $1). While it can get higher depending on how far you’re going (the most expensive a ride has been for me is ₩3000) the base price is ₩1500, making public transportation very accessible. I have also used Uber on one or two occasions when I was in a hurry. These are around 10 times more expensive than a public transportation ride, costing around ₩10,000-20,000. This would be between $6.65-$13.30, which is still cheap when comparing it to the United States’ Uber costs.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

While at Dosan Park, I was able to go to different exhibitions and settings in stores. One of the stores sold mainly sunglasses and had a whole installation of a giant mannequin with glasses and flowers even bigger than that. I believe this was a type of dedication to spring. Spring is very celebrated here. The colors were vibrant and the size made it even more interesting to look at. It was very unexpected to see this at a store that sells mostly only glasses, but I believe that their originality and attention to art and detail definitely set them apart.

Other Travel News from this week:

I have many exciting things coming this week. I’ll be going with some friends to the movies to see the airing of the BTS concert at Goyang. I have also signed up for another dance class at 1Million with Baek Kooyoung (a famous dancer and choreographer) and I’m so excited to see what song we’ll be dancing to!
