I traveled from Paço de Arcos to my university in Lisbon every day. The metro ride along the coast is nice because you can see the ocean and small towns. Then I take the underground metro into the city. It’s a simple commute, but it’s nice to see the coastline every day. I traveled from Paço de Arcos to my university in Lisbon each day. The commute includes a train ride along the coast and a metro ride into the city.
So far, I’ve mostly stayed within the Lisbon metropolitan area. I’ve been spending time getting used to the city, learning Portuguese, and connecting with my classmates before traveling further. I’m starting to explore more local places around Lisbon, including planning visits to Pastéis de Belém and the Cristo Rei statue.
As mentioned, I use the metro to get where I need to go. The public transportation here is fast and connects the coast to central Lisbon. Walking is also nice, because I notice details about the streets, buildings, and city life.
