Buses around the city cost one quarter, so they are a very cheap and convenient way to get around the city. The especial (direct) bus from San Miguel to San Salvador costs only $5 which is a lot more cost effective than the $100 taxi I took the first time. The regular bus between the cities that makes stops is $3.
They also play music on the city buses! I have heard pop and reggaeton music on the bus.
