I always take my bike there so I can pile my goodies in the bike’s saddle bag.
The most interesting place I visited this week was definitely the Speyer Cathedral. It is a huge building built out of striped sandstone. The entrance was very grand, with huge statues of past church leaders and kings. Inside, I found a beautiful panorama nativity scene with a hand-painted starry backdrop, complete with little LED lights inside.
I also went to Mainz this week and got to see a glimpse of Carnival activities. Carnival happens right before lent starts, so the dates change each year. This year, it is right around Valentine’s day. As it gets closer, there are more and more parades, decorations and people dressed up in crazy outfits.
