This week wasn't a super crazy travel week. I only traveled a little over 60 miles in total, not including my daily trips to school or my after school runs. I took a day trip to Placencia, which was about 30 miles round trip with the bus and the water taxi. I also took a trip to Bella Vista to help with the National Sports Council (NSC) soccer tournament, which was only ten miles away. I also took another day trip during the weekend to hike to a waterfall with a beautiful view, which was only about eight miles away from where I currently live.
In my nine months in Belize so far, I have traveled well over 4,400 miles by bus. I have traveled all the way to the town farthest south, Punta Gorda to visit friends, as well as all the way north, to Corozal.
In between, I have made many trips into the capital city of Belmopan for trainings and meetings. I have also traveled to beach towns, such as Hopkins and Placencia, a handful of times to visit friends, or just for a beach day. I have also traveled to places, such as Dangriga and Bella Vista, for volleyball and soccer tournaments. The trip I make the most often is into the town near me, called Mango Creek, which is only about nine miles away to get groceries and anything else I may need that I can't get in my village. I also travel here for meetings and tournaments with the NSC.
