It is a sweet, yet calming smell, often used to relax people or help them sleep. I actually carry a bottle with me all the time to help me when I am anxious. The views of the lake in Tihany were gorgeous and the water was dotted with little sailboats. The fall colors were impeccable both by the water and on my hike. Overall this trip brought me a lot of simple joys and little wonders.
When I was coming back from the Lake Balaton area I got lost looking for the metro station. It was dark and getting cold. I almost gave up and was going to take the longer bus route when I saw two people around my age who seemed a little lost, too. They were dressed up in costumes so they stood out. I took a chance and asked them if they were looking for the metro station. Not only were they also lost, they both spoke some English! Together the three of us found the metro station. They had been at a comicon convention were people dress up as fictional characters and celebrate nerdiness. I actually love going to these events in the states and was very excited to learn that they have them here in Hungary too. These two strangers for a brief moment became friends with me. It was an uplifting moment to end the day on.
