Whether the trip lasts only a couple of days, a few weeks or even an entire semester, packing can be equal parts stressful and fun. I love to be prepared, but I only have so much space in my suitcase, carry-on bag and backpack to bring the most important things. My wife Molly, who you all met in the previous article, shared her thoughts on packing:
"Before a trip I always start by looking at the weather where I’ll be traveling. Googling is great, and even better if you can ask someone who has traveled or lived in that place! This helps me to make sure that I have the right clothes for the climate. I always pack an extra layer, even when traveling somewhere warm just in case!
Travel adapters, travel-sized toiletry products, and a mini first-aid kit are also key!
I always make sure to pack chargers for my phone, a good book, and headphones for the airplane or any long rides."
Like Molly said, it's important to look at the weather to make sure you have the clothes, shoes, and outerwear for the place you will be going.
