Trams, Trains, Subways, and Boats: So Many Ways to Get Around in Stockholm!

Some are very long with accordion folds in the middle, while others are regular length. Some are even double-decker buses from the Archipelago.

Spärvåg - Trams and light railm which are similar to trains and operate above ground with connections to wires above or tracks below. These trains run between different parts of the city, and one takes passengers in a circle around the inner city.

Many people also bring their bikes on board these modes of transportation. Electric scooters and bikes are also available for rent in the city. Bike lanes are everywhere, and if I had one bit of advice to stay safe in Stockholm, it would be to stay out of the bike lanes!

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

Where I live in the United States, I have to drive everywhere. Not having to drive, and also having a commute, feels like a little treat! I love watching the city go by and having time to read before class.

Every once in a while, I get on the wrong train, which can take a long time to correct, but of all the things I'm going to miss when I leave, public transportation is going to be one of them!

The Stockholm metro station is also considered the world's longest art gallery, with 94 of its 100 stations housing art from over 250 artists!
