Mostly farmers plant rice, corn, potatoes and various green vegetables.
I'm sure Timorese people have adapted to their own environment, but I'll tell you about my challenges. Like I mentioned earlier, it's hard to find a good day to wash and dry clothes during rainy season. The rainy season also brings a lot of mosquitoes out, which can possibly spread Dengue. Another challenge with all the rain is the possibility of floods and roads disintegration.
When it comes to drying clothes during rainy season, Timorese people usually wash and dry early in the morning around 7am. That time is more efficient because the rain usually starts in the afternoon. The adaptation to the mosquitos usually require sleeping in a mosquito tent or a lot of mosquito repellent. Now when it comes to the floods and roads, Timorese people place towels under the doors and patch up the roads as best as they can.
