I can easily walk to grocery stores, my friends’ apartments, restaurants, parks and even the river. When I ride my bike on the streets, I sometimes feel a little nervous because of all the cars and traffic, so I always wear a helmet and bright colors to stay safe. Many other people who bike or ride scooters in the city do the same. I also like using the city buses because they are reliable and easy to use. I used the buses more during the colder months when I didn’t want to walk as far, but now that the weather is getting nicer, I find myself walking longer distances again.
The way people get around in Logroño is closely connected to both the culture and the environment of the city. Because Logroño is small and walkable, people are used to traveling on foot rather than relying on cars. This also helps reduce traffic and pollution. Walking and using public transportation are common parts of daily life, which encourages a slower, more social lifestyle in which people spend time outside and interact with their community.
