Student Life in Montreal!

Further, Mia is heavily involved in several forms of community service about which I myself am passionate in, namely, food security and sustainability. When the opportunity arises, it has been a pleasure to participate in the projects in which she is involved that address these issues in her own community.

While my research schedule has been busy, I've also gotten to go out and enjoy the local social scene. As a musician myself, I've had ample opportunity to share music with other students that are excited to jam. For example, a club at McGill called "Jams for Justice" meets every Wednesday in a local park where students can bring their instruments and play with one another.

As a climber, I've found that the bouldering community in Montreal is amazing as well! It seems like every other block has a new gym... and every single one is great! Staying physically active is super important for me when I'm feeling stressed, so being able to climb here has been such a blessing!

Overall, Montreal has been amazing so far. The people, communities, and general vibe have been incredible. During our call next week, I'd love to talk about my experiences in Montreal beyond research, and hopefully shed light on how I'm balancing engaging in scientific research while also engaging with this new and exciting place. Until then, I wish you the best autumn season possible!
