Përshëndetje (Hello)! My name is Stella. I am 23 years old and from Rochester, New York. I went even farther upstate to St. Lawrence University to study Political Science, History, and African Studies. I also played softball in college, served on student government, and worked at my school's bookstore! In my junior year of college, I spent four months living and learning in Kenya for my study abroad semester. This incredible experience inspired me in so many ways, but most of all, it gave me the desire to see the world and the people in it.
With that in mind, after I graduated, I applied to the Peace Corps, an American organization that sends volunteers around the world (to over 60 countries!) to live and work with a new community. Volunteers help with things like teaching, health, farming, and environmental protection. They also learn about the country and its people. I'm currently a Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Kosovo! I teach English at a local school in my community while learning the local language and immersing myself in the culture and customs of this small but amazing country.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, going for long walks, baking, traveling, and playing board or card games with my friends. I also love visiting national parks and watching new TV shows. I am excited to share my adventures with you all and cannot wait to hear about your journeys through the school year!
