Piacere di conoscerti (Nice to meet you)! My name is Stella Van Goor. I am 20 years old and from Newberg, Oregon. I now attend the University of Oregon in Eugene, where I am studying Humanities and Art History. For my degree concentration, I am focusing on the progression of women's roles in art, as artists themselves and as the people who purchase and influence art culture! That is one of the many reasons I am so lucky to be studying in Italy this fall! Italy is home to some of the greatest and most famous artists and art in history!  The country is filled with art museums that are famous around the world, which I am eager to explore! This means I will get to see and learn about classic paintings, sculptures, and architectural monuments in person and up close, rather than marveling at them through a computer screen.

Additionally, I have been studying the Italian language, so spending a whole term in Italy will allow me to practice with and learn from native Italian speakers. I am living in Siena, Italy, a small medieval town. The town is slower and quieter than some of the busy Italian cities like Florence and Rome, but just as beautiful and offers just as rich a history!
