Transportation in Budapest

It is very easy to use and there are even trams that run 24 hours of the day. It's easy to get around. I receive a transportation pass from my program which is good for a whole month. The student rate for a transportation pass is very cheap at only 15 dollars a month. I like to take the old trams! It makes me feel like I am experiencing the city from 20 years ago. However, I usually walk most places. My university is only a ten minute walk from my dorm and my internship is only a 15 minute walk from my dorm.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

Transportation in Budapest is definitely connected to the culture and the environment. The gas and car prices are much higher here in Europe than in the United States, so most people would much rather use the public transportation. It's also easier to use, due to the fact that there is less public parking. All over Europe, the transportation options are much better than in the United States. I believe people also enjoy walking around more here in Budapest. People like to stay fit and eat very healthy, and they'll often walk whenever they can.
