How I Travel Around in London!

Introduction:

As I have now been studying abroad for four months, I have been able to travel to over ten different parts of London! Every place I’ve traveled to, I’ve used public transportation to get there since it's quicker than taking an Uber or driving. Public transportation in London is widely used, with only 50% of people owning a car. This has allowed me to see places I would not have seen if I did not travel by public transportation.

How do people get around?:

Most people in London get around by this underground train called the Tube. It is the quickest way to get around, and, on average, a ride will cost you around $4.16 each way you travel. The Tube has different zones, which all charge different prices, but you are able to transfer to different trains if you need them for free. You have to be careful, though, because the Tube moves at a really fast pace, so it's better to sit or hold onto something when you are on it. Fun Fact: the first time I went on the Tube, I nearly fell over because I didn’t realize how fast it was!

The other option that I use more often is the double-decker buses, which cost around $2.35 each way. The bus takes longer than the tube, but you can see all of the cool buildings and areas of London while you are on it. For the best views, I think you should sit at the top so you can see everything higher up.
