Farewell from the UK!

In our last video call, I shared that my favorite breakfast food here is a savory greek pancake called a “farinata” from my favorite cafe. I had never heard of it before moving here, and I’m so glad I was brave to order it for the first time! I hope I’ll be able to find someplace that makes it back home, otherwise I’ll have to learn to make it myself when I move back. For the rest of my time here, I will be playing “rugby sevens" over the summer. The actual rugby is pretty much the same as in rugby fifteens, there are just less people on the field at the same time. This means that there is lots of room to run, so the game gets very fast!

Although I’ve shared lots about my fun adventures around London and the UK, most of my time here is spent being busy at school. I have worked on two projects researching science, and I will write a thesis paper for each of them by the time I graduate. It has been hard work and I have learned lots of skills and knowledge I look forward to taking to my next research job. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to study abroad, and I am incredibly grateful to the Fulbright Scholarship for making this possible. Scholarships like Fulbright can make work and study abroad accessible for students, so if you’re interested in doing something like this, I recommend you apply for these opportunities when you’re older!

Thank you for coming on this journey with me. I loved getting to talk to you all and answer all your questions over our video calls. My time in London has been such a great whirlwind of work and adventure, and I loved getting to share it with you all!
