I listened to a lot of bachata and merengue music, which are the typical styles of music here in the Dominican Republic. Romeo Santos is my favorite bachata singer, and my favorite song on his is "Eres Mia" ("You Are Mine"). It is very romantic. I saw Romeo Santos perfrom live in a Bad Bunny concert a few weeks ago in Santo Domingo! He was a surprise guest, and I cried from excitement when he came on stage! Bad Bunny is also a famous singer that is very popular here. He is performing in the half-time Superbowl performance this year!
My salsa dance class and my ballet class at the elementary school were the most fun this week. I love dancing, and it brings me so much joy! My students in ballet class are currently working on their flexibilty, and this week I showed them how to do a heel stretch. At my salsa class ,I got to wear my Latin dancing heels and learn some new spins.
I have been reading Curious George books to my students in Spanish, and I just finished a book that I brought back from home that is about the psychology of love in all aspects of life, including love between family members, frienships, romantic relationships, beginnings and endings. It was very interesting and I learned a lot!
I danced a lot, but I also went to a baseball game with my friend Brian. Brian is another volunteer, and he came up to visit me. Luckily, we had a baseball game in the cancha (the baseball field) and we watched the entire game! My team San Rafael won!!!
