Las Fallas de Valencia

I went to Las Fallas in Valencia, a festival celebrating Saint Joseph and the coming of spring. At the end of the festival, the fallas, or monuments, are burned in an event known as La Cremà.

Large monuments, called fallas, are displayed around the city. This one was located in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, where I also saw the Mascaleta, a spectacle of noise, smoke, and color.
People gather in the streets to watch the Mascaleta, or the daytime fireworks display which was very loud

At night, the streets are brightly lit with beautiful light decorations. Streets compete to win the prize for best lighted street
