Ma Routine Quotidienne (My Daily Routine)

Our dinners last about an hour and a half and include a salad to start, a main dish (either meat or prepared vegetables), a cheese and yogurt course with bread and finally dessert! I love talking with my host parents about my day, their days and French/Lyonnais culture in general. Last night, we spoke about the differences between French and American daily attitudes.

10PM - I often finish up some work and occasionally join my host family in an activity before heading to bed.

It's crazy how my daily schedule has become routine after just one week! The city feels far less intimidating and I can navigate without a map quite easily. At first, it was difficult to tell where I was and establish plans for day, but now, I feel like I am finally getting the hang of things! I even have a favorite café near school! In addition, using my French everyday has helped me learn the language very quickly. Although the French people I talk to in the grocery store, in shops or at restaurants can still tell I am a foreigner, my host family recently remarked on how much my language skills have improved in the past week. I'm looking forward to even more improvement and truly integrating myself into my community in the coming weeks.
