Traveler Bio

Dzień dobry! Hello! My name is Roman and I’m from Westfield, Indiana. I am 24 years old and I will be living and teaching in Poznań, Poland at the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology at Adam Mickiewicz University for nine months. I love playing games with my friends, going to the movie theater, and cuddling with my cat, Baz. My family loves to travel, so I have been able to go to some pretty cool places over the years, which has made me love learning about people and ideas from other places. Since I was little, I have loved reading and writing. After graduating high school, I stayed in Indiana to study English Language Arts at Ball State University for my bachelor's and master's degrees, and I learned about all the ways to use language as a superpower.

As a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, I will be teaching English at a university in Poland and participating in opportunities to share cultural experiences with new friends. I was able to visit Poland once in high school and got to see the amazing history that makes the country so unique. In one city, Kraków, I learned about the legendary dragons that are rumored to live there and brought a stuffed dragon home with me. Thanks to the Fulbright Program, I will get to explore the pieces of history I didn’t have time to before. I’ll also get to read Polish literature while I interact with the places that inspire it. I’m excited to share all of my adventures with you and hopefully encourage you to learn as much as you can about the world you live in!
