Just as there are many different genres in Colombia, students too have a diverse range of music tastes. While some like salsa and cumbia, others prefer Amazonian folk music. Similar to the U.S., many students like hip-hop!
What would a typical Colombian kid like to be when he or she grows up?:
Most of the boys want to be soccer players when they grow up. In contrast, many of the girls have different interests. Some want to be teachers, actors or models!
Where do most Colombian kids want to travel?:
Many of the students who I told I was from New York told me that they would love to go to New York City. In addition, students are very interested to visit Canada, Paris, and other parts of Colombia.
What does a typical Colombian kid know or think about the United States?:
Many students in Colombia associate the U.S. with our current president, Donald Trump, who they don't seem to like very much. However, many students are also amazed by the huge cities of the U.S., like NYC.
What questions does a typical Colombian kid have for kids in the United States?:
Students are very curious about the U.S. For example, they wonder how big the buildings really are in NYC. They also wonder if students in the U.S. are like the people they see on T.V. shows or in music videos!
