I’ll meet and live with a new host family for the six days that I stay in Tangting, so I'm very excited! I’ve also made my final decision about where I’m trekking for my fall break! In the Annapurna region, there’s a less crowded trek to the Mardi Himal base camp. It’s also a bit shorter than the trek most people take, which is good because I need to get back to Kathmandu to have another engineering class. I'll be sure to post pictures from all my adventures!
The weather has been very sunny! We thought that after the monsoon season ended it would get cooler, but it's only slightly less humid and a lot sunnier. Nowadays we see more blue skies and haven't needed our umbrellas at all.
Every day I pass a lot of stray dogs, chickens and ducks on my way to class. There are a few cats here and there on the streets, but almost no one keeps them as pets. I saw a few people walking their cows down the street, and I often see cows sleeping on the median of the highway. You can also see goats, and there was a mother and two newborns sitting on the side of a temple in Bhaktapur City.
