Finally, my colleague from school invited me to share in the German tradition of making Plätzchen, (traditional German Christmas cookies) with her and her family this weekend. It was really interesting to learn how to make the dough and shape the cookies just right, so that they come out of the oven with the right consistency. I've had Plätzchen many times before from living in Germany previously, but I've never gotten to make them myself, which made this a truly wonderful tradition to take part in!
