Moving to a new country due to your home being war-torn leaves you in a vulnerable state--being not only traumatized but also forced to assimilate into a new area where you have no roots. This is a reality for all refugees who are forced to leave their homes. From the perspective of the host country, being able to receive funding to support these populations is crucial in ensuring that their own economy is not affected. With the aid, refugee populations are able to live in camps that support them through giving proper healthcare, shelter, food and even starting schooling for younger populations. For these reasons, foreign aid is important to host countries and especially the refugee communities living in them.
As host countries, both Jordan and Morocco receive a lot of foreign aid to support refugees. Jordan, in particular, receives aid due to the large number of refugees it hosts; however, this often proves to be insufficient. For example, Syrian refugees in Jordan are no longer being financially supported as Syria is classified as being safe to return to. However, the conditions in the country are still not livable, leaving these migrants to resort to staying in camps that are no longer funded. Alongside this situation, depending on the duration of their stay in a host country, a lot of immigrants are able to integrate into local communities and find jobs and housing to support their families, and they find no need to return to their home countries once conditions get better.
