I read a book called The Lion Women of Tehran this week and started another one called The Berry Pickers. I usually read one or two books per week with all of my free time and limited access to wifi.
My neighbor, Mama Doreen, has three daughters between ages 10 and 3, and we all like to play Uno together. I was told to bring cards before coming to Rwanda from previous Peace Corps Volunteers because they are hard to find here, but really great to use with local kids and community members. My neighbor is so competetive and shouts in Kinyarwanda the entire time which draws people to watch us play! She usually wins and her daughters and I are lucky if we win one round the entire afternoon.
I spent time with another Peace Corps Volunteer that lives near me. We were able to get lunch at a nearby restaurant after work. I really enjoy seeing other Americans because it's a good break from my busy daily routine.
