My mother is a teacher and my dad works as a police officer. They live in different villages, so I see them at different times.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

School starts at 7:30 in the morning and ends at 4:00 in the afternoon. We get two one-hour breaks during the day, which is the best time to relax or play.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

I walk to school every day because we live right next to it. It’s very easy!

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

We eat lunch at school. My favorite food is magwinya (fat cakes). They’re so good!

At school, we speak English and Setswana. In Setswana, we say “Dumela!” when we greet someone.
