My mother is a teacher and my dad works as a police officer. They live in different villages, so I see them at different times.
School starts at 7:30 in the morning and ends at 4:00 in the afternoon. We get two one-hour breaks during the day, which is the best time to relax or play.
I walk to school every day because we live right next to it. It’s very easy!
We eat lunch at school. My favorite food is magwinya (fat cakes). They’re so good!
At school, we speak English and Setswana. In Setswana, we say “Dumela!” when we greet someone.
There’s Sethunya (set-toon-ya), Leungo (loon-go), Pelo (pell-o), Kagiso (kah-hee-so), Lelentle (leh-lent-lay), Gogontle (ho-hont-lay), Lame (lah-may), Wame (wah-may), and Same (sah-may).
