Our News

What main languages are spoken here?:

English, with a Scottish accent and unfamiliar phrases like 'Aye' instead of 'yeah' or 'I agree.'  People also use the word 'wee' instead of 'little.'  For example you might hear someone say 'It's a wee bit chilly this morning!' and another person respond 'Aye, it is!'

What type of money is used here?:

The United Kingdom uses the pound, sometimes referred to as 'quid' in slang.  One pound exchanges to $1.30, approximately.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

I avoid bottled water because of the environmental impact of the plastic and because the tap water in Scotland is very high quality.  However, you can usually buy a bottle of water for one pound.

What was the best meal this week?:

I had an excellent fish and chips supper last night.  Usually Cod fish is used for this meal, but the place I went used Haddock, which was quite tasty!

What music did I listen to this week?:

I like to listen to various playlists on Spotify.  One artist I like is Eddy de Pretto; he is from France and uses French in most of his songs.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

I just returned back to the U.K., and the most fun has been talking with my friends I have been away from for three weeks.
