Hi, I'm Peter! I just graduated from Yale University, where I studied Biomedical Engineering. This means that I learned how to build new tools to help doctors and patients. Someday I want to go to medical school and become a doctor. But first, I'm excited to spend the next year living and teaching English at a junior high school in Lukang, Taiwan. As you can imagine, I'm also curious about how different countries, like Taiwan, take care of people's health.
Fun fact about me: I speak three languages! I grew up speaking English, I'm fluent in Japanese, and I'm working really hard on my Mandarin here in Taiwan. I still mix up my tones sometimes, but making mistakes is an important part of improving. To me, languages feel like a key that unlocks new cultures and new friends. When I'm not teaching, you can probably find me running (I finished a half marathon!), playing the flute, wandering around art museums, trying every food I can get my hands on (Taiwan's food is amazing!), or watching TV.
