Our News

What music did I listen to this week?:

In the school library, there is a big piano on the first floor that is usually covered with a velvet cloth and a sign that says "Do Not Touch." However, each day, starting at 5:30PM, a student volunteer plays the piano for about 30 minutes for everyone's enjoyment. One of my friends volunteered this week, and I had a front row seat to the piano concert!

What activity was the most fun this week?:

My university held an International Festival where foreign students were able to showcase their country of origin. We had participants from all parts of the world, including countries like Korea, Tanzania, Laos, Belgium, Sweden, Russia and, of course, the United States. We were able to taste food from different countries as well as learn about each country. My favorite part was a fashion show, in which each country showcased their traditional costumes on stage.

What did I read this week?:

Since it is nearing the end of the semester, I have begun doing heavy research about my travel plans for the summer. I have been reading about places like Tibet and Bhutan, both of which I really want to visit. The more I read, the more I fall in love with each place. Unfortunately, my wallet isn't bottomless!

What games or sports did I play this week?:

My favorite game that I played this week involved a very simple item - a large rope. During the International Festival, people from different countries took turns jumping rope and at some point, jumping rope turned into tug-a-war. The positive competitive spirit allowed for a great bonding experience for students from all cultures.
