Traveler Bio

I am a Peace Corps Volunteer in the country of Belize. I work way down south of Mexico, right on the shore of the Caribbean Sea. Belize is a beautiful country with such remarkable diversity in its people and nature. As a Peace Corps Volunteer, through the United States government, I work with an elementary school in Belize, coaching sports clubs and camps, and teaching gym class.

I went to Drexel University, studying law and criminal justice, and learning how to address social inequities, drive civic engagement, and defend civil rights through the law and community efforts. These experiences have led me to join the Peace Corps. It was a huge step to leave my friends and family and everything I knew back in the States to integrate into another culture for a good cause.

The cause? Working in a village primary school of 450 kids. My primary job is to develop an organized and sustainable clubs program and a Physical Education program. The children here in Belize love to play soccer (which they call “football”) right on the beach. Sometimes they use coconuts as goals and buoys as soccer balls! I look forward to cultivating that innovation and learning from it as well. I look forward to learning and helping others throughout my volunteer journey and sharing it all with you!

Peace Corps Volunteers like me live and work side by side with community members around the world, collaborating on locally prioritized projects, building relationships, exchanging cultures and knowledge, and helping transform lives for generations. Learn more by clicking here.
