A Day in the Life of a 6th-Grader

Introduction:

This past year, I have been living with a host family. I have a host mom, a host dad and a host brother! My host brother is currently in 6th grade. Last year, he was actually my student! This year is his last year in elementary school before moving on to middle school. My host brother is a very funny and smart kid. He enjoys video games, superhero movies and joking around with his friends. I thought an interview with my host brother would be a good opportunity to get to know him better, and also for you to see what life is like for students in Korea. Enjoy!

What is your full name?:

My host brother's name is Kim Ju Won.

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

My host brother lives in an apartment in Hwacheon, a small town in the northern Gangwon-do province of South Korea. He says he really likes his home. It is a two-room apartment with a nice kitchen and family room. His favorite thing to do at home is to watch TV and eat snacks with his parents.

What is your family like?:

Ju Won's mother is a teacher at a daycare center and Ju Won's father is a soldier. Juwon says he likes both of his parents. He talks to his mom a lot more about school and day-to-day life, but he likes building toys, watching movies and telling jokes with his father.
