Sam Smith is my favorite artist. I actually got to see him in concert this summer; it was amazing. I was so close to the stage! I often listen to his newest album, "The Thrill of It All," on repeat.
On Sunday I went to The Hague, or as the Dutch call it, Den Haag. I visited the International Criminal Court and the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals. These two buildings were open to the public as part of a Peace and Justice weekend. Both organizations help keep the peace and uphold justice on an international scale. Den Haag is the home to the Dutch government and is well known for being the International City of Peace and Justice.
For my birthday, my coworkers got me a book called "36 Hours in Europe." It details travel itineraries to over 100 European cities. I read the sections on Dublin, Ireland and Warsaw, Poland because during my fall break in October, I will be traveling to both of those cities.
I played a Dutch children's game called Stef the Stuntpilot. You have to make sure the plane doesn't knock off your three coins or you lose. My roommate told me that almost all Dutch children know this game, and since she already had it, we played it at my birthday party with all my friends. Learning about Dutch culture can be really fun!
