I got to hear beautiful melodies from their artists, and I would describe the music as peaceful, angelic and smooth on the ears. There was no heavy bass; instead, the instruments felt very light because the beat and vocals were the main focus.
The most fun activity I did this week was Karaoke with my friends. We went to a community spot where we got to meet local Cambodian people, foreigners who had lived there for 10 years and all kinds of other people. Music brings people together, so I truly enjoyed being able to share joy with everyone through singing our favorite songs.
This week, I read articles about the relationship between Cambodia and Thailand. These countries are still in conflict due to longstanding history from when they shared the same kingdom and then split from each other.
On the bus to Cambodia, my team and I played the very fun game "Imposter" and "Mafia." We spent the entire hour laughing and chatting, investigating who was a secret spy on our team. This allowed us to form deeper bonds with each other and truly enjoy our time.
This week marked the end of my first week of classes in Thailand. I am beginning to become more comfortable making friends with Thai people at my school. It can be scary being somewhere new on your own, but Thai students speak English and are open to meeting people like me who come from a different part of the world.
