Some of my American friends who live in other parts of Moldova came to visit over the weekend, and we played poker with some of my Ukrainian friends, to whom I teach English.
I am currently reading two books, one of which I got in Bosnia, entitled 'The Bridge on The Drina.' This book is a micro history which focuses on a bridge in the Bosnian town of Visegrad, and describes how the town endured the trials and tribulations of the 19th and early 20th century. I am part of a book club with some Peace Corps Volunteers, and we are reading 'The Lion Women of Tehran.' I have garnered an interest in Iranian history in light of recent events in Iran. I also read some articles from my favorite magazine, 'Foreign Affairs.'
I did my normal weightlifting routine, and I brought my neighbor, who teaches French in Bălți, to the gym with me.
Classes were held online due to dangerous conditions from ice on the roads.
