This week, I challenged myself by reading in three languages, English, German, and French.
In German: I read a chapter in my political science textbook on the development of the European Union. I learned about political sovereignty (sovereignty means independency) and how countries and political groups form. I also read a little more of Mockingjay (the third Hunger Games book) in German.
In French: I read a short story in my book of short stories in French about some friends who go to a party, and the main character starts dating a girl he meets at the party.
In English: I read the play "Everything Beautiful" by Noah Haidle.
I didn't play any sports this week, but I did spend a lot of time biking and playing with my landlord's dogs. They are named Bibi and Karli. They both really like belly rubs, trying to sit on my lap (even though they're too big to fit), and jumping up on me.
I had a lot of fun teaching this week. I did a lesson on theater and analyzing plays for one of my 12th-grade classes, which was particularly fun because I have a background in theater (I minored in theater in college). I also did a bunch of lessons on world news and English grammar, and worked with a lot of students on editing their writing.
