What main languages are spoken here?:

Mostly everyone in Cajamarca speaks Spanish, and a few people can speak English. English is taught in all Peruvian schools so sometimes either an English teacher or someone who really enjoyed learning the language will spark up a conversation with me to practice. When I came to Peru in 2023 I couldn't communicate at all, but with two years of experience I am now an advanced speaker. It was hard to learn another language and I had to practice a lot. I will never deny someone the opportunity to practice their English with me because I have been in their position before.

What type of money is used here?:

The Peruvian currency is called Soles or The Sol. They have 5 types of coins or cencio in Spanish. They have 10 cent coins, 20 cent, 50 cent, 1 sol coins, 2 sol coins, and lastly 5 sol coins. In the U.S., people rarely use coins anymore, but here in Peru I use them daily and they are very convenient. They also have a 10 sol bill, a 20 sol bill, a 50 sol bill and finally a 100 sol bill. Currently, 1 sol equals 30 cents in the U.S. This changes depending on the world exchange rate but not by much.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

The price of a water depends on what brand you buy and if it is cold or room temperature. Unlike Americans, Peruvians do not enjoy cold drinks; often most drinks are served at room temperature.
