Our News

What main languages are spoken here?:

The main language I heard this weekend was Czech in Prague. Czech is from the Slavic language family and is closer to Polish or Russian than the Romance languages. Since Prague is a popular tourist attraction most people speak English.

What type of money is used here?:

In the Czech Republic, they use their own currency, Czech koruna, which is used only in the Czech Republic. The Czech koruna is cheaper than the Euro, making it less expensive to live in Prague than Berlin or Paris.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A half liter of water costs about 10 korunas which is about 45 cents back home.

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal I had this week was a chicken, onion and pepper sandwich that was cooked on a skewer. Prague was filled with tourists celebrating the upcoming Easter holiday and there were many street vendors selling food on the streets. That is where I ordered my sandwich!

What music did I listen to this week?:

This week I was able to listen to Electronic Dance Music which is played at a lot of events in Prague. It is a popular genre of music in Europe.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

One activity I enjoyed a lot was using an Electric Scooter in Prague.
