The main languages spoken here are Italian and English. Locals appreciate it when you attempt to converse with them in Italian, but they can often tell you're a foreigner. Milan is a very diverse place, and tourists visit from all over the world, so it only makes sense that languages are just as different!
We pay in a currency called the euro. Cashiers usually ask contante o carta, which translates to "cash or card." It is common to pay with a lot of coins too, as the euro ranges from 1 euro to 20 euro coins!
Water is the most accessible thing here in Italy; water is so safe that there are public fountains all over the country where you can fill up your bottle when necessary. At a store, water ranges from .60 to 2.50 euros.
The best meal I had this week was a fettuccine pasta with roasted eggplant and cherry tomatoes. The pasta was so soft and creamy, which was complemented nicely by the vegetables. I would go back to Rome just for that pasta!
