Farewell from Spain!

Back home, if it rained on a day that I was planning to go out somewhere, I would just wait a little bit for the rain stop and the clouds to clear up so I could go on with my day. Here, if I wait for the rain to stop, I could be sitting inside for a few days at a time! I've had to change my mindset about rain. I have come to view rain not as being something that has to stop me from doing what I want or as simply a nuisance. Instead, I have come to see that rain in Asturias is the reason this region is so green and beautiful. With that realization in mind, I am thankful for the rain and the beauty that it brings!

Most importantly, I've learned that there is so much of the world that I have never seen, and there is so much more to learn about the people and their different ways of life. Just because something is different from what I'm used to doesn't mean that it is wrong or bad. This is a lesson that I hope to bring back to my friends and family in the United States. I hope to share pictures and tell stories that will help close the gap between their lives and the lives of people here. I hope I have shared that lesson with you as well!

Thank you so much for joining me on this crazy journey!

Hasta luego,

Olivia
