Bonjour! Hello! When someone mentions French music, you might immediately think of the cliché Parisian man sitting by the Seine while playing the accordion. However, I have enjoyed many styles of music while living here!

Back in October, my friends and I went to an annual 24-hour accordion festival in Toulouse. Yes, you read that right. For 24 hours straight (6 p.m. to 6 p.m.) different accordion-based groups performed to audiences of all ages and walks of life. By 11 p.m., we realized that public transportation had already ended for the night, leaving us without a way to get back to our hostel. So, naturally, we decided to just stay at the festival! Our favorite group was the one that played at 4 a.m.: three men were playing electric accordions and one man was DJing and remixing the accordion sounds in real time! Even at that hour, there were still people of all ages enjoying the unique music. It really felt like a fever dream, and it was one of the best experiences of my life!
