Excavating Archaeological Sites

I'll be joining an archaeological excavation at Boomplaas Cave next month. Other scientists and I will follow the steps archaeologists take to learn about the Stone Age people who once lived here.

We Lock Up and We Lock Down!

There are many types of boats navigating the rivers here in France and Germany. When there's a change in the river's height and they can't go over a waterfall, they use a "lock" system.  

A Week Traveling in the Western Cape

This week, I traveled around the Western Cape province to present at a science conference, visited two awesome caves and hiked in the big Knysna forest.
