Hi, Class!
It is hard to believe that my time in Sweden is coming to an end! When I first arrived in Stockholm in August, I was excited to explore a new country, meet new people and learn what life would be like thousands of miles away from home. I was also a little nervous because everything was unfamiliar, from the language to the food to the way people go about their daily lives. Now, as I prepare to return to the United States, I can honestly say that studying abroad has been one of the most memorable experiences of my life!
During my time in Sweden, I have gotten to experience so many things that I would never have learned about by simply reading a textbook. I explored Stockholm, tried new foods, learned about Swedish traditions and visited places throughout Europe. One of my favorite memories was visiting Gröna Lund, Stockholm's amusement park, with my friends during Halloween to celebrate my roommate's birthday! We got to enjoy the rides and Halloween atmosphere while making memories together. It was such a fun way to celebrate a special occasion in a new country! Another favorite was visiting Tanto Bastu, a public sauna in Stockholm, where I learned how people use saunas to relax, spend time together and take care of their well-being.
