Experiencing these traditions firsthand helped me understand what everyday life in Sweden can look like.
Studying in Sweden has taught me so much about people and the world around us. In psychology, I study how people think, feel and connect. I even learned about a Swedish concept called lagom, which means finding balance, not too much and not too little. Although people across the world may live differently, we all share so much in common!
One of the biggest lessons I will take home with me is the importance of being brave enough to try something new. Moving to another country felt intimidating at first, but some of my favorite memories came from stepping outside my comfort zone. Growing up in West Virginia, I never could have imagined all the places my education would take me. I want you to remember that where you come from does not determine how far you can go. You are capable of amazing things! Keep asking questions, stay curious, and never be afraid to dream big. All you need is the courage to take that first step.
Thank you so much for following my journey in Sweden! I hope you have enjoyed exploring another part of the world with me. Although I am excited to return home to my family and friends, I will always be grateful for the memories, friendships, and lessons I have gained here.
Tack så mycket och hej då! That means "Thank you very much and goodbye" in Swedish!
